"The human-animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that is influenced by behaviors considered essential to the health and wellbeing of both." – The Human Animal Bond Research Institute
To put it simply, the human-animal bond can not only increase your quality of life but theirs too. When you're having a rough day, a sad day or even a great day; have you noticed what your furry friends are doing? They are comforting you, encouraging you and even celebrating with you. Now, think about when the roles are reversed. Your pet is having a rough day, getting around is difficult or they had an accident, despite being potty trained. What do you find your self doing? You're comforting them. You're encouraging them. You're even cheering them on.
To some, this bond gives them purpose. To others, it gives them hope. And too many, it gives them a best friend.
